Brief description:

The goal of the project is the development of a new innovative urban climat model that is able to simulate the microclimate in densely-populated cities like Berlin with a spatial resolution of less than 10 m. The model will be developed as a user-friendly tool, which can be applied by both scientists and urban planners.

Brief description:

In cooperation with our Chilean partners reflection properties of snow covered surfaces typical for the Alps, the Andes or Antarctica will be investigated. Therefore a new multispectral spectroradiometer shall be developed to measure the spectral sky radiance from about 120 directions within a wavelength range of 280 nm – 600 nm simultaneously.

A prototype of a multidirectional spectroradiometer (MUDIS) has been developed at the IMUK. The instrument is capable of measuring spectral sky radiance in a wavelength region of 300 to 600 nm in 113 directions of the sky simultaneously in less than two seconds.
