At the roof of our institute a camera with a fish eye lens is installed which is directed to zenith. This lens has a visible angle of more than 180 degrees. With it the whole upper hemisphere can be taken with one image. Caused by the short wavelength distortions of the picture occur. Nevertheless the cloud coverage and cloud type can be observed. The pictures are stored every minute and can be displayed as a film. With this also the direction of wind and the development of clouds can be observed.
