Journey with public transport

The institute can be reached by public transport. To get precise information about your individual journey please refer to the internet presence of the german railway system provider Deutsche Bahn and the local transportation service provider Üstra. The station next to the institute is called "Herrenhäuser Gärten".

From Hannover airport

There is a S-Bahn connection (S5) bringing you to the city center / Central Station (Hauptbahnhof). The journey takes about 20 minutes. Please follow then the remarks below.

From Central Station (Hauptbahnhof)

Leave the Central station in direction to Zentrum/Ernst-August-Platz and continue walking for about 300m along a pedestrian area until you reach a square where several pedestrian areas merge. Now you are at "Kröpke". Please go one level down where you will find ticket machines für the local transport (Üstra, grey-green colored). To reach the institute you will need a 1-Zonen-EinzelTicket.

Please continue by taking the left outer most escalator which brings among others to lines 4 "Garbsen" and 5 "Stöcken". Both trains will bring you to the 6th station "Herrenhäuser Gärten".

Being at the station, you have already passed the institute. On the right handside you should see yellow buildings of the faculty of Natural Sciences, in which the Institute of Meteorology and Climatology is located even if it is allocated to the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. To find the institute in this building (block F, frist floor), please refer to the map below.
