Studies at the Institute of Meteorology und Climatology

English is spoken by nearly every student and staff member of our institute. Nevertheless, almost all lectures are held in German. Good knowledge of German is therefore required if you wish to study meteorology at our institute.

As from the winter semester 2009 the hydrology lecture, which is often attended as a minor subject by students from developing countries is held in English. Additional material such as scripts or presentations is available in English. If required, a limited number of meteorology lectures may be held in English.

Students and scientists from different countries work together in our research groups. Therefore meetings are often held in English. Theses and reports may also be written in English.
