Research Group Theoretical Meteorology

The key aspect of our activity is the development of theoretical models relating to convection (clouds, showerbands), small scale atmospheric eddies (land spouts) and topographic induced rotors.

Our working methods include numeric simulation by means of the LES model, data analysis of precipitation radar and COSMO-DE forecasts as well as laboratory experiments such as rotating tanks and big tanks e.g. the Toulouse Hydraulic flume.
